St. Vincent de Paul members provide a variety of services to those in need through the following:
Bench Community Supper
Sacred Heart and St. Vincent de Paul join with other bench area churches to provide a meal once a week to their parishioners and other residents of the Bench neighborhood. Sacred Heart Parish is committed to serving this meal on the second Friday of every month. The purpose of this gathering is to build community in the Bench neighborhood. Families and faith groups are encouraged to help in preparing, serving, and cleaning-up after the event.
Food Pantry - 3209 W. Overland Rd. (208-333-1460)
Members coordinate the collection and distribution of food to families in need. They collect, purchase and transport food, interview people, pack food and sometimes deliver to homebound people.
Friends of the Poor Walk
Members of St. Vincent de Paul participate in annual national walk to raise funds for the many needs requested.
Helpline & Home Visits (208-331-2208)
Members coordinate calls coming in city-wide from those with various needs. From these calls, members arrange home visits assisting families with rent, utilities, food and other needs. Through referrals & networking with other churches and organizations, those less fortunate are served.
Thanksgiving Food Boxes
Members with the help of parishioners oversee and coordinate the signing-up of those in need, as well as, collecting food, packing, distributing and some delivering of food boxes to families during the Thanksgiving holiday.
Patient Assistance Program
This program advocates between the patient, physician and pharmaceutical company for free medications for those who qualify.
